Prof. Dr. Riccardo Memeo is a surgeon with extensive long-standing experience in liver, pancreatic, and biliary tract surgery. He has over 25 years of medical practice and has performed more than 8,000 surgical procedures, primarily in complex and oncological cases.
His clinical activity is mainly focused on the surgical treatment of severe diseases of the liver and pancreas, including:
Liver cancer
Bile duct cancer
Klatskin tumor
Liver metastases
Pancreatic cancer
Neuroendocrine tumors
Benign liver tumors
Professor Memeo currently serves as Director of Hepatobiliary, Pancreatic, Minimally Invasive and Robotic Surgery at the F. Miulli Regional Hospital in Acquaviva delle Fonti (Bari, Italy), and as a University Professor of Surgery at LUM University in Bari.
After completing his medical degree and specialization in General Surgery in Italy, he undertook advanced training at leading medical centers in France, in Paris and Strasbourg, where he acquired deep expertise in complex abdominal surgery.
Professor Memeo also holds a PhD and is continuously engaged in scientific research and in the use of modern technologies such as minimally invasive and robotic surgery, which enable more precise and safer operations, with faster recovery for patients.
His approach to care is consistently patient-centered, working in close collaboration with physicians from different specialties and tailoring treatment to the individual needs of each case, including highly complex conditions.
